Information from Rio Breeze. This does not replace an individual assessment.

What is individual psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy provides a structured space to work on emotions, thoughts and behaviors that cause distress or affect daily life. It can help you understand patterns and develop ways to handle challenges.

The approach, frequency and length of treatment depend on your needs and assessment. No fixed number of sessions can be promised to solve every person’s concerns.

What happens in a psychiatric evaluation?

An evaluation explores your symptoms, health history, previous treatment and goals. The conversation may cover mood, sleep, attention, physical health and how things are going in daily life.

At Rio Breeze, an initial psychiatric evaluation is a separate service from individual psychotherapy or a follow-up appointment. It is an opportunity to discuss possible explanations and care options; booking does not guarantee a diagnosis or a prescription.

Can therapy and medication be used together?

Therapy and medication may be used separately or together, depending on the individual assessment. Ask why an approach is being suggested, what its benefits and limitations are, and how progress will be reviewed.

You do not need to decide on a treatment before your first conversation. Medication decisions depend on clinical appropriateness. Some concerns may require more evaluation or a referral.

What if I do not know which service I need?

Start by identifying what has become difficult: worries, low mood, changes in sleep, relationships or other daily challenges. During the appointment, explain whether you have had a previous diagnosis or treatment.

If you are unsure which appointment to book, contact Rio Breeze for help choosing the service. Keep administrative messages focused on scheduling; share clinical details through the care platform.
